Director of Nursing

Our top-rated skilled nursing center is currently accepting applications from qualified RNs to be considered for the Director of Nursing position. This is the top nursing leadership position in our facility and is responsible for daily coordinating, assessing and monitoring the quality and efficiency of patient care outcomes for all three shifts on each unit. The Director of Nursing is also responsible for ensuring compliance of nursing care policies, procedures, systems and processes, as well as managing and supervising unit nursing staff. This position reports directly to the Executive Director. We offer a supportive work environment with a stable administration team. Dogwood Village is a non-profit, independent facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Nurse with current, valid license issued by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
  • Three to five (3 – 5) years previous supervisory experience, preferably in a long-term care or hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of general, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing practices and procedures and the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term and skilled nursing care.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions, delegate duties, and manage multiple objectives, projects, and deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with residents/patients, staff, family members, vendors, suppliers, and other contacts, both inside and outside the facility.
  • Must exhibit patience and a positive attitude towards the elderly population and a desire to provide a service to the community.

RAI Coordinator – Part Time

Looking for a new addition to the RAI department effective 7/1/17.   This position has a focus on the care planning process and risk assessments. Qualifications are as follows:

  • RN with at least 2 years of care planning/risk assessment experience. MDS knowledge would be an added benefit to position.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on needs of the of the department.
  • Computer experience, comfort navigating to various sites.
  • Needs to be detail oriented, organized, able to complete work timely, ability to self-start and set daily goals.
