Dogwood Village is pleased to announce that it is a part of the National Music and Memory Initiative which is a research study through George Mason University. Music and Memory is a project which is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Service with use of funds approved by Center or Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Participants in the Music and Memory program must meet specific criteria based on Interviews for mental status and have a diagnosis of dementia.
Music and Memory helps people living with a wide range of cognitive and physical challenges find renewed joy in life through musical favorites and are provided on a personalized playlist through iPods and can be a key element in the individual's plan of care.
