REHABILITATION

Joyce Melton Testimony.jpg

Rehab services are offered to individuals who require specialized individual treatment for medical conditions including, but not limited to, fractures, strokes, and heart disease. Our physical, occupational and speech therapists specialize in rehabilitation for seniors.

All of our rehabilitation services are conveniently performed on-site at our well-equipped Rehabilitation Therapy Center by licensed physical, occupational and speech therapists. Our rehabilitation team develops a comprehensive plan of care to achieve an individual’s maximum independence, quickly and safely.

“I have been very happy with the excellent care and rehabilitation that I have received with Dogwood Village. I have successfully recovered from three surgeries with the assistance of the dedicated staff who were always there when I needed them.”

Services
Amenities
Physical Therapy

In a broad sense, the role of the physical therapist is to accelerate recovery by helping the body’s natural healing process. To accomplish this, the physical therapist will help the resident improve muscle strength and coordination, manage pain and learn to compensate for any physical limitations caused by illness or injury.

Occupational Therapy

The occupational therapist will help the resident adapt to and overcome any physical limitations that may prevent independent living. Residents will be helped to relearn the skills needed in daily living, such as dressing, grooming, bathing, eating and homemaking. The occupational therapist will provide any adaptive aids necessary for assistance.

Speech Therapy

The speech therapist works to help restore losses affecting the ability to communicate, remember and understand. In addition, the speech therapist can treat swallowing and chewing disorders, assist in coping with communication impairment and treat any difficulties in thinking, planning and memory.
