Dogwood Village of Orange County warmly welcomes volunteers. By dedicating their time, volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents through daily activities. We offer a variety of opportunities to contribute, and we truly value everyone's skills efforts. Volunteers receive guidance and training to them connect with our residents and understand services we provide. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Engage residents in board and card games (such as checkers, bridge, and bingo)

  • Spend one-on-one time visiting with residents

  • Accompany residents to the patio for outdoor visits

  • Assist residents with transportation to and from programs

  • Offer your skills as an art instructor

  • Operate a refreshment cart for residents

  • Shop for residents’ needs

  • Help with special programs and projects

  • Adopt a “grandparent” to remember with visits and notes

  • Organize a reminiscing program to share stories and experiences from the past century

  • Entertain residents with your musical abilities

  • Provide background piano music during mealtimes

  • Gift a magazine subscription to a resident

  • Lead exercise classes for residents

  • Bring pets to visit and brighten the residents' day
