Dogwood Village is known for its tradition of excellence, personalized care, and strong community connections. As a nonprofit owned by Orange County and overseen by the Health Center Commission—appointed by the Orange County Board of Supervisors—we remain deeply committed to serving with integrity and compassion. We are honored to support families across Orange County by providing trusted care that evolves with the needs of our residents. Our focus remains on enhancing quality of life through meaningful relationships, engaging programs, and a warm, welcoming environment.
A Legacy of Care
Dogwood Village of Orange County has served older adults in Orange County, Virginia since 1967, opening its county-owned nursing home in 1970. Over the years, it has grown to include assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services to meet the community’s evolving needs. Continued expansion included the creation of
the Dogwood Village Foundation in 2005, a new Senior Living building in 2007,
and additional skilled nursing capacity in 2010, with further growth in 2017.
Today, Dogwood Village provides a full continuum of care with a capacity
of 164 health and rehabilitation residents and 80 assisted living residents,
continuing its long-standing commitment to the community.
