October is here, bringing crisp autumn air, colorful leaves, and the beauty of a new season! As the days grow cooler and the leaves begin to change, we look forward to enjoying all the warmth and charm that fall has to offer. It’s a wonderful time to gather with loved ones, enjoy the changing scenery, and appreciate the simple joys that make this season so special.
As we welcome October, we encourage all our residents to continue making their health and well-being a priority. Take time to enjoy the outdoors when the weather is comfortable, participate in our activities and special events, and make time for relaxation and connection. Whether you’re enjoying a favorite hobby, sharing a conversation with friends, or simply taking in the beautiful colors of fall, we hope October brings comfort, happiness, and meaningful moments to everyone in our Dogwood Village community.
As we begin a new month, we look back with gratitude on all the wonderful moments we shared throughout September. From fun activities and special celebrations to laughter, friendships, and everyday moments that make our community feel like home, September was filled with memories to cherish. As we look ahead, we’re excited for all that October has in store, with new experiences, meaningful connections, festive moments, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beauty of fall together.
National Assisted Living Week: A Baa-rilliant Start!
We kicked off this very special week with a visit from a wonderful petting zoo. Our residents enjoyed spending time with the adorable animals, sharing smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments together. A special thank you to Starfield Farm for bringing such wonderful furry and feathered friends to us. Your visit truly brought so much joy to our residents and helped make the day extra special. We also want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing Activities Department for always going above and beyond to create meaningful, engaging, and fun experiences for our residents. What a wonderful way to begin a week dedicated to celebrating our amazing residents. Here’s to more laughter, more smiles, and many more special memories together!
Shining Through the Years
We celebrated the week filled with smiles, laughter, and beautiful memories as our assisted living residents enjoyed a fun and memorable photo shoot. With playful props, big smiles, and plenty of personality, everyone had the opportunity to let their unique spirit shine. Every photo captured a special moment and a story worth celebrating. It was wonderful to see our residents enjoying themselves and creating memories that we will cherish. A heartfelt thank you to our Activities Department and amazing staff for helping make this day so special. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication continue to bring joy to our residents and make each experience meaningful. Here’s to celebrating every smile, every story, and every beautiful year!
Sweet Moments & Lasting Memories
Our wonderful residents have been making sweet memories, sharing plenty of smiles, and enjoying lots of fun along the way! From delicious ice cream treats and creative tie-dye activities to lively music programs filled with singing, dancing, and laughter, there has been no shortage of joy throughout our community. A very special thank you to Lilian from Found and Sons for the generous ice cream donations. Your kindness helped make our week a little sweeter and brought so many smiles to our residents. We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness and support!
Celebrating Our Amazing Rehab Team
This year’s theme, “Building Futures Through Rehabilitation,” is a wonderful reminder of the meaningful impact our rehabilitation team makes every day. We are incredibly grateful for each member of our team and the dedication, compassion, patience, and encouragement you provide to our residents. You are there to celebrate every milestone, encourage every step forward, and help turn challenges into accomplishments. Your hard work and commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve. Thank you for always cheering our residents on and helping them work toward their goals. We are proud to celebrate our incredible Rehab Team and all that you do!
Celebrating Our Environmental Services Team
We are taking the time to acknowledge and celebrate the diligent team members who ensure our community remains clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming every day. Your dedication, teamwork, and commitment to our residents and staff make a noticeable impact. We also want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this week special by donating treats and meals, including Domino’s, Chick-fil-A, Dunkin’ Donuts, breakfast, candy goodie bags, and more. Your thoughtfulness and generosity were truly appreciated. A special thank you to Sam’s Squad for joining us in celebration and for their generous donation to our Environmental Services Department. Your kindness and support meant so much to our team. To our Environmental Services crew, thank you for everything you do. We appreciate your hard work and dedication more than you know!
National Assisted Living Week Family Picnic Celebration
What a FUN evening! Our residents, families, friends, and staff came together to celebrate the wonderful people who make our community so special. A huge THANK YOU to our amazing Activities Department for all you do to make our residents feel loved, valued, and celebrated every day! Thank you to our Dining Department and Chef for the delicious meal — it was absolutely wonderful! Thank you to all the families and friends who joined us by phone to share in the celebration and support their loved ones. Your love means so much! And a special thank you to our incredible staff for helping make the evening such a success! And of course, thank you to DJ Erick for the fantastic music, karaoke, and keeping the good times rolling! Enjoy all the fun that was had, the smiles that were shared, and the wonderful memories that were made! What a beautiful evening filled with laughter, love, music, family, and friendship! We loved celebrating our amazing residents!

Meet Kim, who has been the Physical Therapist Assistant at Dogwood Village for 26 years. "My favorite part of working at Dogwood Village is the people. I love getting to know my patients, helping them reach their goals, and seeing the moment they realize they can do something they didn’t think was possible. A special shoutout to our wonderful Rehab Department! What makes Dogwood Village so special is our staff and residents. There’s truly a small-town feel here, and I’m grateful to be part of it."
