Health & Rehab Resident Spotlight – Barbara Jean Grasty

Ms. Barbara Jean Grasty was born and raised in Orange, VA. along with her brother and sister and attended Orange County schools. After graduating from Orange County High School, she married her husband John, who she was married to for sixty years.

Together they have one daughter, Dorinda, who lives in North Carolina and several grandchildren.

Ms. Grasty worked at The Silk Mill, Aileen’s, the Orange County Health Department and Continental Teves in Culpeper.

She enjoys attending a variety of activities including musical programs, crafts and socializing with others throughout the day. Her niece is very supportive and visits with her often. She also enjoys talking on the telephone with her daughter daily. Ms. Grasty considers one of her greatest accomplishments was raising her daughter, watching her grow up, and become successful both in her life and career. Ms. Grasty’s sister, Pat Winters, was a resident at our facility for many years. Ms. Grasty lived in our senior living facility on campus for five years and has been a resident at our Health & Rehabilitation facility since November 2019.
