Vernon and Elizabeth “Jean” Trout were born and raised in Quinwood, a former coal town in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. They met and fell in love in a small hometown five and dime store when they were introduced by Jean’s sister.
They moved to Unionville, Virginia in 1961 where they built their home and raised their family. Vernon worked for many years as a plumber for Ronco Mechanical Contractors, Jean a homemaker.
Together they enjoyed working on their cattle farm, gardening and raised their five children, three girls and two boys. They also have two grandchildren. Jean has been a resident at our facility since September 2018 and Vernon joined us in January of this year. They have enjoyed participating in a variety of activities and have met many new friends.
