Health & Rehab Resident Spotlight – William Taylor


Mr. William Taylor was born on June 17, 1929 in Belle Haven, VA. He has a brother, sister and one half brother. In 1935, his mother passed away during childbirth and he was sent to live with his grandparents in Exmore, VA. He attended Jefferson High School in Roanoke, VA and joined the US Navy in 1946 at the age of seventeen.

In 1949 Mr. Taylor married Jeanne Gardner. Together they had two daughters; Karen of Orange, VA and Peggy of Virginia Beach, VA.


Mr. Taylor also has five grand-children and nine great grand children that he is very proud of. Mr. Taylor retired from the US Navy after thirty two years of service.

Mr. Taylor has been a resident at Dogwood Village of Orange County Health and Rehabilitation since June 2015. He has been a volunteer with our facility for several years prior to his admission and continues to volunteer with The Bluebirds of Happiness Volunteer Group during our Wednesday morning sing along. During his leisure time Mr. Taylor enjoys watching golf and socializing with others.
