A new month brings renewed hope and fresh beginnings as we welcome February—a time when winter continues to wrap us in crisp air, gentle reflection, and opportunities to share kindness and love with one another. As we move through this season together, it’s important to stay mindful of our health during the heart of winter. To all our valued residents: please remember to stay warm, rest well, and take the steps needed to stay healthy. Your well-being means the world to us, and we are grateful to begin this month surrounded by care, compassion, and community.
Let’s also take a moment to reflect on the warm memories and new meaningful moments we shared throughout January, as we continue creating more special memories together in the weeks ahead.
New Years Celebration
New Year memories, big smiles, and lots of laughs filled our days. Our residents had a wonderful time, and we extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing activities team for making it all possible. Here’s to a joyful and meaningful start to the new year. We look forward to creating many more special moments together in the months ahead.

Introducing John Ashley, New Administrator at Dogwood Village
We are excited to announce John Ashley, DHA, LNHA, RCAL, QCP, as the new Administrator of Dogwood Village of Orange County. John brings years of leadership experience across Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Independent Living, with a strong commitment to resident-centered care, quality improvement, and teamwork. He is known for building strong teams and meaningful relationships with residents, staff, and community partners. Please join us in giving John a warm Dogwood Village welcome as we continue our mission of compassionate, high-quality care for our community.

A Day of Reflection and Togetherness
We honored Martin Luther King Jr. Day with reflection and togetherness. It was a meaningful reminder to be kind to one another and to truly listen to each other. Our residents enjoyed a joyful day filled with conversation, connection, and shared moments.

Above and Beyond: Our Team’s Commitment During the Winter Storm
Our team showed what dedication truly looks like. Leadership, nursing, and support staff stayed on site to ensure continuous care, safety, and comfort for our residents as we prepared for the winter storm. Our community was fully prepared with secured staffing, emergency power, food, water, medical supplies, and on-site support, and we worked closely with local emergency partners to remain fully operational throughout the storm. We are deeply grateful to our maintenance team for their hard work in ensuring the safety of our campus, and we appreciate the continued trust and support of our residents and families while encouraging limited travel during severe weather conditions.

Building Community Through Learning and Support
Thank you to Aging Together and Paula Sherwood for sharing valuable wisdom on managing stress and supporting caregiver health. Our residents had a fantastic time and appreciated the thoughtful discussion and practical insights. We look forward to continued collaborations and more meaningful opportunities to learn and connect together.

Celebrating Community and Cozy Winter Moments
Snow much fun! Residents enjoyed playing Poke-a-Snowflake and walked away with warm blankets, hats, and gloves—all generously donated by our wonderful community friends. The event was a joyful way to celebrate winter while bringing smiles and warmth to everyone involved.
